SERVICE

Service is an integral part of my professional and personal philosophy. Whether through academic contributions, community engagement, or industry collaboration, I believe in using my expertise to support others and create meaningful impact.

University & Academic Service

As a faculty member, I am committed to serving my university, department, and students beyond the classroom. My service contributions include:

  • Committee Work – Actively participating in department and university committees focused on curriculum development, accreditation, and student success initiatives.

  • Mentorship – Guiding students through research projects, career development, and professional growth opportunities.

  • Student Organizations – Supporting student-led cybersecurity groups and competition teams, helping them develop technical skills and industry connections.

  • Program Development – Contributing to the evolution of academic programs by integrating emerging trends in cybersecurity and instructional technology.

Professional Service

I engage with the broader academic and industry communities to advance cybersecurity awareness, education, and best practices. This includes:

  • Conference Participation – Presenting at and attending professional conferences to share research and stay informed on industry advancements.

  • Peer Review & Editorial Work – Reviewing research publications and serving on editorial boards to uphold academic integrity and innovation.

  • Industry Partnerships – Collaborating with professionals to bridge the gap between academia and industry needs in cybersecurity and IT.

Community Engagement

Beyond the university, I believe in giving back through outreach and advocacy efforts, including:

  • Cybersecurity Education – Leading workshops and public discussions on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

  • K-12 STEM Outreach – Encouraging younger students to explore technology and cybersecurity through mentorship and hands-on learning experiences.

  • Volunteering – Supporting community-based initiatives focused on education, technology access, and digital literacy.

Service is more than a professional obligation; it is a way to create lasting, positive change. I am continually looking for opportunities to contribute in ways that support students, colleagues, and the broader community.
