Education

Prof. Yerby teaching

My entire life I have been involved in education, for several years as a student plus a couple positions training and instructing part-time.

For the past several years I have been able to enjoy being a full-time faculty member at a great university. Teaching seems very natural to me, I enjoy helping people grow and learn.

I try to be reasonable, logical, open to new experiences, keep positive influences in my life and eliminate most negative influences. I work more than I would like, but I really enjoy each of the little successes and accomplishments along the way.

I earned my first Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems. I then earned a Master’s in Business Administration before beginning my Ph.D. program at Georgia State University in the Instructional Technology program. I completed my Ph.D. in 2017.  Prior to teaching and working on my Ph.D., I spent the majority of my time doing school work or working as a Network Administrator, Project Manager, volunteering in the college and community, and running my own IT Consulting business.

I am always learning something new. I thrive on knowing more. If I am not doing something to move my life forward I feel complacent and uncomfortable. I am not nearly as far in my life right now that I would have expected to be -but it is a journey and I am still moving. I want to do something to make plenty of money, help others, and be happy.

I enjoy seeing people advance their lives and if I can do something to help someone with that process then it gives me great pleasure.

I see myself as a work in progress, and hopefully always will.
